The Coordinator for Student Involvement within the Alford Community Leadership and Involvement Center is responsible for overseeing campus-wide programming through the advising of the University Programming Council (UPC) and coordinating the planning, logistics, and execution of off-campus experiences and events for Denison students. Together with the CLIC Associate Director and Director, this role will collaboratively build and foster meaningful, vibrant student involvement opportunities.

Essential Job Functions
  • Advise the University Programming Council (UPC) in designing inclusive and high impact social programs. Build student leadership and oversee such responsibilities as recruitment and selection, budget allocation and reconciliation, training and development, and representing the policies and procedures of the University in risk management.
  • Coordinate the planning, logistics, and execution of off-campus experiences and events, including the Denison Shuttle program’s weekly shopping shuttles and academic break transportation
  • Assist with the successful execution of high profile, high impact, campus-wide events and traditions facilitated by CLIC including Week of Welcome, Senior Week, the Involvement Fair, Gala, D-Day concert, Winter Fest, Aestavalia, Culture Jam, Doobiepalooza, etc.
  • Support 160+ organizations through the oversight of new organization approval and annual re-registration, student organization leader training, organization recognition, organization conduct, advisor support, and risk management of student organization events. Engage and support faculty in advising student organizations.
  • Assist campus organization leaders in the planning and execution of campus-wide events
  • Serve as a champion for CampusGroups, CLIC’s online student engagement and events platform, by assisting in the training of campus partners, departments, and student leaders
  • Support CLIC colleagues and their work within: community service and civic engagement, campus organizations, leadership education and development, campus-wide events and traditions, vibrant social life, and Slayter Union management.
  • Serve as a part of the university’s on-call rotation, coordinating and assisting with initial response to students of concern, facilities issues, and/or significant housing policy violations that occur after business hours
  • Work collaboratively within the Division of Student Life, namely with Orientation and the First Year Experience, Residential Communities and Housing, Campus Safety, and the Office of Community Values and Student Conduct.
  • Work collaboratively with campus partners, including Bon Appetit, Reservations, Facilities, and Purchasing.
  • Maintain collegial partnerships with off-campus vendors related to large scale events and traditions.


Minimum Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor’s degree. Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education or related field strongly preferred. Preference given to those with program management experience. Willingness to be certified for Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) and for ServSafe.

Physical Demands
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Event set-up, tear down, general trouble-shooting and hosting duties.
At times, this position is required to lift no more than 20 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 10 pounds frequently.
At times, this position requires standing, walking for 2 or more hours at a time. This position will navigate campus spaces in the course of their duties.

Additional Information
This position is eligible for relocation reimbursement. Given the frequent evening hours and weekend expectations, this Coordinator will live on campus and is expected to utilize their on-campus apartment as their primary residence during the time of employment.
