The St. Charles Borromeo, Pikesville and St. Gabriel, Woodlawn Pastorate has an opening for a Coordinator of Faith Formation.

The Coordinator of Faith Formation will prepare and direct all religious education and youth ministry programs to ensure that the mission of evangelization is accomplished. This position’s purpose is to minister to children, youth and their families to support and strengthen the pastorate community’s faith and service to God and to each other.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides oversight, coordination, and integration of life-long faith formation efforts throughout the Pastorate including:
  • Preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation, Reconciliation and Confirmation
  • Religious Education Program for children and youth, ages 5 to 18
  • Continuing faith formation and service opportunities
• In collaboration with the Pastor and ministry team, ensures the development of vital faith formation efforts and the integration of these efforts with other Pastorate activities to enhance the ability of the Pastorate towards accomplishment of the Mission
• Recruits, trains, coaches and evaluates volunteers serving in faith formation programs
• Performs administrative tasks or provides oversight of those tasks, such as ensuring sacraments are properly recorded, program registrations are completed, fee collections are recorded and deposited properly. Must prepare, adhere to and track expenditures in annual ministry budget
• Conducts programs of meaningful and ongoing follow-up with families and parishioners and those who have received the Sacraments recently

Qualifications:

• Practicing and devoted Catholic who is fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church
• Bachelor’s Degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry or related field
• 3 or more years of experience in developing and providing faith formation or religious education in a parish setting
• Excellent planning and visioning capabilities and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to direct and manage paid and volunteer staff
