POSITION SUMMARY

The Franchise Business Manager reviews and monitors franchise contract activities and reviews entity formation documents and property leases to determine compatibility with company standards and other Franchise Agreement provisions. This position currently works remotely.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Researches online data to help general counsel in day to day communications with franchisees
• Meets with general counsel regarding feasible options afforded within the framework of the franchise program to resolve various circumstances
• Communicates cordially and succinctly within the company and with franchisees to clarify the terms of agreements and procedures
• Drafts agreements for signature by the franchisees following procedures and terms prescribed by the general counsel
• Reviews franchise contract drafts submitted by other staff members per procedures and terms prescribed by the general counsel
• Reviews entity formation documents and property leases submitted by franchisees to determine their compatibility with company standards and other provisions of the Franchise Agreement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least three years of experience working as a paralegal in a franchise or other business
• ABA approved paralegal study program graduate, with paralegal certificate
• Certified Franchise Executive designation by International Franchise Association a plus
• Experience with updating the Franchise Disclosure Document prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission for franchisors
• Exhibits a detailed knowledge of legal terms and concepts of multiple franchise or other contracts
• Excellent grammar and conversational skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, and various software tracking programs
• High level of contract organizational skills; directs file management procedures
