Corporate Business Developer

Our Business Development Team here at Victor Stanley does not sell, they educate. Visit with specifiers, such as architects, landscape architects, urban designers, municipalities, contractors, etc. We make our visits meaningful by developing relationships, providing professional knowledge and offering products with unsurpassed quality.

Victor Stanley, Inc. offers the rare opportunity for the successful candidates to become a member of this well respected US manufacturing company that has been in business for over 60 years. From benches and bike racks to smart litter receptacles, which use our Relay Sensor and Service to enable efficient collection routing, we meticulously design, engineer and manufacture every detail to ensure our site furnishings will withstand the test of time. Our products are on the public streets of downtown New York City, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston and many other cities throughout the United States as well as Europe and Asia.

Examples of the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Present and educate about the company products to current and potential specifiers and customers
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
  • Follow up on and referrals resulting from field activity and from new leads
  • Identify prospects and make contact
  • Prepare presentations and participate in preparing quotes
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships
  • Manage regional service through follow-ups
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activities, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
  • Communicate new product opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
  • Develop and implement special sales activities, such as special seminars or sponsorship of events, etc.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and cold call events
  • Requires working a flexible schedule and overnight travel, occasional weekend and/or evening work to include traveling approximately of 17 week per year
  • Other duties as assigned

Position requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or two years of sales/marketing experience
  • Valid driver’s license
