About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a new head of the Corporate Development Group to lead strategic corporate transactions for Wells Fargo & Company, partner closely with the Regulatory Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) team on recovery and resolution actions and support strategic planning activities occurring within the lines of business. This role reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer with significant, direct interaction with the bank's Operating Committee and CEO.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide vision and set direction for multiple high impact initiatives to achieve long-term strategic objectives that drive companywide results

  • Collaborate with peers and line of business leaders to develop and manage highly complex, multi-year projects, strategies, goals, and business ventures

  • Develop and implement strategic solutions to address highly complex and multi-jurisdictional business challenges

  • Lead a team of managers and professionals to develop long-term, risk and strategic management solutions to achieve corporate objectives

  • Collaborate with and drive accountability within the team and across project management groups within the lines of business

  • Manage the allocation of human capital and financial resources for Corporate Development

  • Drive a culture of continuous talent development to meet business and strategic objectives

Required Qualifications, US:
  • 8+ years of Corporate Development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex M&A from end-to-end including sourcing, relationship development, negotiation, diligence, process management, closing and successful integration.
  • Experience in applying in-depth understanding of financial concepts and different transaction structures; i.e. strategic investments, divestitures , joint ventures
  • Proven track record of executing/negotiating complex transactions and have fluency with multiple types of transaction structures
  • Ability to create and deliver simple, powerful, and data-driven communications to executive management
  • Ability to successfully lead large matrixed deal teams with a solution oriented mindset during exploration and execution of a transaction
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships externally and internally.
  • Ability to lead and coach a small team that is agile in day to day work given multiple high priority projects with tight timelines.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple simultaneous priorities and deadlines with tight timelines
  • Self-starter and comfort with ambiguity; must be self-directed and proactive
