Teakdecking Systems, Inc., an International manufacturer and installer of custom-built teak decks, composites and interior flooring for the worldwide marine industry with locations in Florida and Spain, has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for compiling data from various Teakdecking Systems (TDS) departments to generate, review and maintain the financial records of the company.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Calculates Cost of Sales for jobs performed and products sold by the Yacht, Production Boats, and Product Sales departments.
• Must be very proactive and utilize a teamwork and investigative approach in gathering the information necessary to calculate, post and verify financial and other data required in the preparation of accounting documents.
• Makes suggestions for improving the reporting system.
• Develops cost standards for materials and labor.
• Analyzes production costs and recommends changes.
• Oversees periodic physical inventories.
• Performs month end cost accounting close.
• Performs cost benefit analysis.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or closely related field required – CMA and/or CPA preferred.

2. Minimum of three years’ experience in a commercial business setting is required.

3. ERP experience in a manufacturing environment is required

4. 2 – 4 years of direct cost accounting experience and lead with Job Costing, Cost Analysis, Inventory Control

5. Cost accounting background

6. Analytical thinker with strong conceptual problem-solving skills

7. Ability to analyze and recommend cost savings

8. Marine industry experience also preferred.

9. Must be computer literate and experienced with computerized spreadsheets, word processing and most Microsoft Windows applications.

10. Must be able to operate a calculator by touch and other general office equipment.

Work Environment: This is a casual dress, on-site, manufacturing work environment.
