POSITION TITLE: COVID-19 TESTER/VACCINATOR

DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS SITE MANAGER

FLSA STATUS: 1.0 FTE, Non-Exempt, Non- Union Position, Varied schedule, must be able to work evenings and weekend shifts

COMPENSATION: LVN $37.40 (Swing & Weekend shifts only)

BSN- Interim Licensure $39.60 (Swing & Weekend

shifts only) RN $44.00 (Swing & Weekend shifts only)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Immediate openings for Licensed Vocational Nurses, Registered Nurses, ADN and BSN new graduates with an NCLEX testing date and/or an Interim Permit, willing to commit at least 6 months to one year of employment. This position has been developed to assist clients with performing on-site medical screening specifically for COVID 19 samples for clinical laboratory testing, and for COVID-19 vaccinations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• COVID-19 Testing
• Aid in preparation for COVID-19 test stations daily
• Support patients in registering on testing lab website
• Administration of COVID-19 testing, including administering nasal swabs, scribing and accurately recording patient and testing information
• Place follow up phone calls to communicate test results and/or discrepancies, as needed

• COVID-19 Vaccination Administration
• Prepare and administer COVID-19 Vaccines (including Moderna, Pfizer, and Janssen, as supplies become available)
• Properly document vaccine administration, including completion of COVID-19 vaccination record card
• Provide patient information as necessary
• Monitor patients post-administration for adverse effects and provide treatment and facilitate emergency response as needed

• Site Support
• Set up/break down of testing and/or vaccination stations
• Following all site equipment storage and security protocols
• Communicate with site leaders regarding supply needs
• Support facility management and daily maintenance routines, including cleanliness and sanitation protocols

• Locations:
• Permanent testing sites are located at: Skywest Golf Course (1401 Golf Course Rd. Hayward) and Cherryland (20095 Mission Blvd Hayward)
• Shifts may include deployment for mobile testing or vaccination in and around southern and central Alameda County, including at other partner sites and/or in-home visits to ensure equitable availability of testing and vaccines

• Prioritize patient and staff safety at all times, following protocols and procedures as communicated by site leadership

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be available to work a variable work schedule that require some evenings and/or weekends:
• Wednesday - Sunday full time positions

• Required Qualifications
• Qualifying Medical Credentials:
• Licensed Vocational Nurse - active license with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing - completion of a license-eligible program in nursing, may include issuance of an interim permit
• Registered Nurse - active license with the California Board of Registered Nursing

• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
• Knowledge and application of clean technique and sterile technique

• Preferred Qualifications
• Spanish bilingual
• Full time availability
• Advanced Care Life Support Certification

• Valid CA Driver’s license
