Crane Operator

The ideal candidate will operate mobile cranes, gantry cranes and other heavy lift industrial machines to ensure that goals and objectives of heavy object movement are accomplished within prescribed time frames. Working knowledge of Lattice Boom Crawler and Large Hydraulic crane with 5 years experience working in a shipyard preferred. NCCCO Certified for Large Hydraulic Cranes. Under supervision of the rigging manager, the Crane Operator makes various lifts from vessel to Pier. Cranes on site: 30 Ton Grove RT,150 Ton Link Belt RT, 440 Ton Manitowoc (Lattice Boom).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Crane Operator will perform a selection and use of cables, ropes, shackles, and other weight handling gear to lift, move and position loads up to 65 tons.

Requirements:

• Experience in the use of complex multipoint suspension techniques required, along with the ability to work nights and weekends.
• Must possess mechanical skills sufficient to perform routine tasks including crane inspections and required lubrications.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree required
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a marine/construction setting preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
• Crane certification a plus.
