We are looking for a high energy, upbeat, creative talent that loves to brainstorm and take on new projects, to work as The Creative Director for Blanchard’s Media Team. The Creative Director is responsible for guiding the creative direction of video projects, managing a steady flow of successful video projects, overseeing the Media Team staff, and leading the ongoing development of the group. This role will interface with internal customers to understand their video needs, conceive of and pitch creative alternatives, and direct the production work so that videos are highly engaging and meet their instructional and promotional goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as senior creative lead, working with marketing, product development, and other stakeholders to understand their goals and requirements
  • Expert in generating, presenting, and exploring creative ideas
  • Write video and audio scripts and oversee script writing by others
  • Act as director of video projects, guiding cast members and crew, and owning creative and high-level decisions to ensure that creative vision comes to life
  • Solid experience directing and working with ALL levels of on-camera talent, ranging from unknown talent to celebrities
  • Lead the Media Team’s strategic direction, guiding the structure and shaping the methods of the team, to best meet evolving needs
  • Oversee the creative aspects of pre-production and post-production process to ensure quality outputs
  • Oversee the Media team staff, figuring out how to best leverage their talents, keep staff members motivated, and help them develop their skills
  • Handle the day-to-day management of the Media Team including project scoping, scheduling, pre-production meetings, casting, etc.
  • Identify, track, and actively mitigate issues that could put video projects at risk
  • Ideate on talent/casting, set designs, and shoot execution
  • Develop new formats and creative approaches to video content
  • Maintain and extend brand aesthetics and quality standards
  • Work independently (self-starter) and within a team, with the ability to collaborate, take direction and lead
  • Push the creative envelope and go the extra mile to create something great
  • Perform other video and creative duties as requested

What We Are Looking For

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a major related to film production, communications or marketing/advertising. Advanced degree a plus. Five or more years of experience conceiving of and pitching video concepts. Five or more years of directorial experience at an agency, brand or broadcaster. Three or more years of experience managing a team. Experience in script writing and storyboarding.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Deep knowledge of video concepting, directing and production methods with general media industry knowledge. Extensive writing skills for dramatic instructional, and promotional videos and materials. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work simultaneously on multiple projects. Knowledge of post-production editing tools and Adobe Design Suite. Knowledge of the training and development industry a plus. High level of interpersonal and communication skills, advanced skills in leading projects and problem solving.
