Responsible for providing direct and indirect support to the commercial credit department staff, which includes analysts, managers, and credit officer. Achieve goals as established by the credit department; coordinate work within the department, as well as with other departments, comply with operating policies and procedures; communicate with appropriate personnel; respond to inquiries or requests for information; maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect support to the Credit Department Staff as follows:
    • Actively manage the loan request check-in process by conducting business entity/ UCC searches, pulling credit bureaus, and other tasks as necessary.
    • Prepare underwriting files for credit analysts, including the review of financial statements/tax returns and spread them into the financial spreading software, research debt and deposit relationships using the Company’s core system, evaluate credit bureau reports, prepare profitability model, and ensure accuracy in the preparation of such information.
    • Process departmental invoices, order supplies and oversee maintenance of department copy machines.
    • Prepare quarterly SOX reports and monthly GL reconciliations.
    • Follow procedures for the imaging and archiving of documents received and generated within the department. Take minutes at weekly officer loan committee meeting and board loan committee, forward signed approvals to commercial administrative team and upload to the appropriate imaging location.
    • Distribute Officer’s Loan Committee (OLC), Board Loan Committee (BLC) Credit Policy Committee (CPC) and Deal Review packets.
    • Develop working knowledge of the Loan Operating System.
    • Become familiar with Loan Policy and able to apply policies to practice.
    • Must have a working knowledge of internal controls, regulations, compliance and reporting issues relative to commercial lending.
    • Assist in preparation of Reg B notices and adherence to Reg B timing requirements, as applicable.
    • Perform special projects and prepare/maintain reports as required.
  • Assist the RIMS Exactbid Job Manager (or similar program) in management of the appraisal process including:
    • Order appraisals and evaluations in accordance with regulations and policies, and follow up with appraisers and loan officers for missing information/documentation as needed.
    • Review appraisals/evaluations and evaluate appraisal methodologies used, and engage external appraisal reviewers as needed.
    • Become familiar with governing appraisal regulations such as Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA).
    • Develop working knowledge of online appraisal and environmental order system. Update the annually approved appraiser and environmental professional lists – request E & O insurance updates, credentials, and draft memos for approval.
    • Develop relationships with appraisers to ensure high level of service and quality of work.
    • Assist in the selection of new appraisers and environmental professionals by reviewing qualifications, gathering required information and presenting recommendations for approval to CCO.
  • Assist in management of commercial construction portfolio including:
    • Processing checks and releases of mortgage associated with the sale of collateral.
    • Processing advances on projects as the necessary information and support is received.
    • Ordering inspections and bring down searches when a new draw is presented.
    • Become familiar with the project spreadsheets, budget and lot tracking and management reports and update as needed. Issuing release memos.
  • Actively manage Financial Statement collection and tracking.
    • Archive financial statements and underwriting documents into imaging system.
    • Maintain the financial statement tracking database, ensuring accurate customer information, and track the receipt of said statements.
    • Analyze and prepare several tracking and monitoring reports on both a monthly and quarterly basis for the credit administration staff, senior management, and/or the Board, including but not limited to Concentration Reports, Covenant Tracking Reports, and Financial Statement Tracking, as needed.
  • Respect highly sensitive nature of position and treats all information in a confidential manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED. An Associates or higher degree preferable, or equivalent credit/banking experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ banking or related experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and other Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, proven ability to organize and prioritize time sensitive tasks and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with Credit Administration and Commercial Lending Staff.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to adjust to changes in the daily workflow and demands of the department.

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to lift 0-10lbs. on a frequent basis. Movement that may be required for a prolonged period of time, includes, but is not limited to: sitting, standing, bending, leaning, pushing, reaching and keying/data entry/typing as is common and typical in a branch/office environment.
