SUMMARY: The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the housekeeping of the Seaboard Triumph Foods Plant inside and outside.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Dump all trash cans on a daily basis
  • Clean and sanitize all bathrooms on a daily basis
  • Sweep and mop all tile floors on a daily basis
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas on a daily basis
  • Clean walls and edging on a daily basis or as required by management
  • Clean all glass doors on a daily basis or as required by management
  • Clean all interior windows on a daily basis or as required by management
  • Dust all offices, hallways, lavatories, conference rooms and other assigned areas daily
  • Pickup all trash in smoke pad on a daily basis
  • Sweep and mop all stairways on a daily basis
  • Pick up recycle bins once a week or required by management
  • Put supplies away when required by management
  • Zamboni, Buff, Strip and Wax floors when required by management

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Compose/develop reports, articles, presentations, or other material which communicate ideas or concepts related to complex or controversial issues. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from maintenance supervisors, workers and employees. Discuss unique or non-recurring issues with others which may involve converting specialized terms into everyday language to ensure understanding.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak; hear taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold/hot temperature and vibration. The employee will be using products of household strength to clean. The noise level in the work environment may vary depending on the work area.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
