Performs a wide variety of routine skilled duties as needed to provide custodial services and material handling.

Job Focus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs facility care and cleaning tasks to assure proper care and cleaning of College Campus.

• Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Dispose of trash and emptying trash receptacles.
• Clean, sanitize, and supply restrooms.
• Performs various set ups for special events, moves office furniture.
• Assists in performing general maintenance as required.
• Assists with pick?up and delivery duties including incoming freight.
• Provides oversight, training, and guidance of part-time custodians, work studies, and STEP volunteers.
• Covers work duties for part-time custodians when absent.
• Maintains and assures preventative maintenance on custodial equipment.
• Helps monitor and maintain inventory of custodial supplies.
• Performs heavy cleaning tasks such as stripping and refinishing floors, carpet extraction, carpet stain removal, exterior window cleaning and other tasks as required.
• Communicates effectively with all College Campus personnel and customers.
• Works as a team player supporting the needs of the Facility Services Department.
• Assists with snow removal by operating snow equipment to include snow blowers, four-wheelers and shovels.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience performing related duties; or additional formalized related training may be substituted for experience.
• May be required to obtain forklift operator certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of custodial procedures, tools, equipment, and materials used in custodial work.
• Knowledge of safety practices in custodial work and proper use of cleaning agents and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Requires frequent physical exertion including heavy lifting, bending and operating custodial tools and equipment.
• May require ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed.

You can request a copy in room 1081. Verification of a typing score (within last six months) if required, is accepted from the Campus Testing Center.
