Position: Customer Care Representative

Location: Washington, DC

Responds to inquiries received via the 24-hour Emergency Command Center. Applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to provide sufficient information to resolve substantive issues and problems. Compiles , reconciles, and correlates data from a variety of sources. Coordinates field crew activities for Customer Services, Water Services, and Sewer Services in response to calls received from the general public

Responsibilities:

  • Establish payment plan terms for customers
  • Provide information regarding status of lien and lien release
  • Prepare proper documentation to initiate refund requests
  • Initiate telephone contact with customers to advise of delinquent status and any pending collection activity
  • Research of property ownership for lien placement
  • Identify accounts eligible for service termination and schedule appropriate field activity
  • Process payments received via lockbox, walk-in customer and regular and special mail
  • Perform various filing duties.

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in inbound call center environment
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Working knowledge of applicable software programs

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
