As a HyerTek Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting one or more U.S. Federal Government clients based in the Washington, DC Metro area. The main client focus is the Department of Defense (Navy, Marines, and Army)

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, the day-to-day job responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement, and upgrade security measures and controls.
  • Establish plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction.
  • Maintain data and monitor security access.
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments.
  • Conduct internal and external security audits.
  • Write custom code and build Cybersecurity solutions/applications.
  • Anticipate security alerts, incidents, and disasters and reduce their likelihood.
  • Manage network, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
  • Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause.
  • Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures.
  • Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies.
  • Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures.
  • Coordinate security plans with outside vendors.
  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave of multiple agency divisions and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits, and active evaluations, such as vulnerability assessments.
  • Establishes strict program control processes to mitigate risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, and security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation process (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, test participation, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
  • Document the results of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the System Security Plans (SSP) and manage and submit the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Perform Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) activities throughout the system's lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (Last investigation within the five years).

  • Current IAM DoD Level I Security certification (CAP, CND, CLOUD+, GLSC, Security+ CE, or HCISPP) or ability to obtain within 3 months of the start date.

  • Must have a relevant master's degree with 0 years of experience OR a Bachelor' Degree with three years of experience OR an associate degree with five years of experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with seven years of experience.

Hybrid / Washington Navy Yard or Pentagon

Compensation

$110,000 - $125,000
