Position Title:Dance Instructor
Position Summary: The Dance Instructor will be responsible for teaching youth different dance techniques. The Dance Instructor should model the positive respectful behavior the ARK promotes to each youth participant. Instructor will showcase dances taught at the end of summer camp.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach students different styles of dance.
- Provide classes for youth ages 6-15.
- Keep attendance records for various youth activities.
- Develop the choreography for various dance routines that students will be able to perform at ARK events. February for Black History, end of Summer Camp in August and Christmas Celebration in December.
- Maintain and promote a safe environment amongst the youth.
- Help to ensure that the ARK rules and regulations are adhered to by the youth.
- Turn in weekly reports.
Experience/Education:
- Must have a high school diploma. Working towards degree is preferred.
- Must have previous experience teaching youth different styles of dance.
- Must demonstrate cultural competency, and is dedicated to working with youth and families in the community.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be a positive role model for youth participants and have respect for others.
- Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.
Pay rate:$30.00 an hour/ Part Time 6-8 hrs a week. Contractual Work.
