Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking Data Analyst, Digital Strategy (Staff Associate) with Mid to Sr level opportunities, to support several programs/tasks with DOD command level offices. Job location is a blend of support on site at the Washington Navy Yard with telework possible from home and at Strategic Insight s office in Washington, DC. Join our growing Digital Strategy team in the data arena and be a part of our efforts in digital transformation and Data/Application migration to SharePoint managed services. Will work in collaboration with SharePoint Developers, Communications, Education and Architect professionals as well as program office clients.

  • We are looking for data management/analyst professionals with new data solutions to share, experience with data workflows and complex database systems, and a willingness to work with the team to continually exceed our client s expectations.
  • Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for a government security clearance at the Secret level.

The ideal candidate will lead the creation and application of tools for gathering, transformation, and preparation of data for analysis, visualization, and insight. A successful candidate will possess a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments, effectively prioritize actions daily, including good sense of design, proof reading, grammar, and analytical skills; an ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels; and self-starter, goal-oriented individual who provides timely feedback on progress made on assignments

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop solutions to collect, analyze and report project-specific data, and other business needs, including but not limited to, portals, workflows, forms, collaboration sites, dashboards, MS Office automation, and document management tools using MS365, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint Online.
  • Work with large and varied data sets from multiple sources to conduct statistical analysis, generate concise reporting and present recommendations to both internal and external clients.
  • Identify, document, and collaboratively resolve data integrity issues on an ad-hoc and routine basis.
  • Interact with government stakeholders and teaming partners to gather requirements and propose analytic solutions for the leadership.
  • Support organizational digital transformation through a best practice approach to drive data hygiene, literacy, and documentation.
  • Conduct M365 platform administration tasks, migrations, and other M365 technical tasks within the M365 environment.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other internal workstreams and external teams to analyze data to determine appropriate success metrics.
  • Prepare briefings, studies, reports, and other deliverables for presentation to senior client officials.
  • Assist senior leaders with ad-hoc data requests that can be pulled from Power BI dashboards.
  • Candidate must have experience developing data models using process mapping methodologies and can work in conjunction with full stack application development teams.
  • Senior-Level responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide expert data-driven decision-making support.
  • Provides oversight for data management activities.
  • Serve as an expert resource supporting data questions and issues from stakeholders and driving to resolution.
  • Implements data management techniques and data collection systems
  • Champion development and implementation of quality controls and standards to ensure adherence.
  • Develop strategies that optimize data quality, data security and process efficiency.
  • Lead in the design, development, validation, and delivery of data to provide insight into business decisions.
  • Works closely with other service area leads to ensure data management services remain capable of meeting ongoing and future requirements.
  • Analyzes process measurements associated with data management and recommends improvement activities based on service deviation.
  • Strategic input into solution design focused on data management considerations.
  • Maintaining high-level oversight on data quality metrics and deliverables.
  • Engages in data exploration using various programming languages (reading and writing code), requiring advanced knowledge of multiple database structures.

  • Implement best practices pertaining to capturing, tracking, and managing technical requirements.
  • Work with analysts and government stakeholders to understand requirements and compile structured and unstructured data ensuring its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
  • Manage the collection of business and technical requirements from stakeholders to deliver data driven solution. Produces and reviews technical documentation that is consistent with professional standards.

Success for working in this position requires:

  • Experience generating data products and reports including building interactive data visualizations and dashboards and similar tools to communicate key operational metrics to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze technical information and communicate results, issues, risks, and impacts in a simple, concise manner to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience in data mining.

  • Must have strong analytical, reporting skills & strong Excel skills, such as the ability to create macros.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 /MS O365 SharePoint Online, TEAMS, One Drive and Exchange Online and legacy MS Office applications.
  • Experience developing in Microsoft 365 with expertise in SharePoint Online and Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).

Education and Experience:

  • Required Experience: At the mid-level, undergraduate Degree and 3-5 years related or 6-8 years with Master s preferred at the Sr level. Additional years of experience can be substituted for education.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with data visualization tools i.e., Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience developing and supporting solutions that address a range of business needs including portals, workflows, forms, collaboration sites, dashboards, and document management tools using Microsoft 365 (M365), Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint.
  • Related experience in qualitative/quantitative analysis, reporting, ad hoc analysis
  • Basic knowledge or interest about apps support procedures, concepts, and other technical areas.
  • Experience in data management, SharePoint and cloud migration required.
  • Familiarity with DoD, Department of the Navy, or other Federal Agency.
