Summary of Role:

Supports, maintains, and improves the operating environment of the RTX Private Cloud Data Center, enabling customers to use the technology and infrastructure resources with agreed service levels.

Responsibilities:

Supports, maintains, and improves the RTX Private Cloud Data Center operating environment.

Coordinates and provides infrastructure support on issues escalated from the MSP support teams.

Reviews diagnostics, monitors, and assesses the functionality and efficiency of the data center operating environment.

Leads root cause analysis in support of Problem Management.

Provides technical leadership for major incidents and collaborates with other technical specialists in pursuit of remediation.

Creates knowledge documentation for L1 and L2 support teams to improve incident response and customer satisfaction.

Provides technical consultation to Private Cloud Data Center customers - the application teams in the RTX business units.

Contributes as part of a cross functional team to automate monitoring and event management of the Private Cloud Data Center.

Contributes as part of a cross functional team to automate the fulfillment of resource requests from data center customers.

Defines the installations and updates of data center software and hardware as needed in coordination with the MSP infrastructure teams.

Defines and reports the cost of replacing or updating infrastructure items.

Experience/Qualifications:

5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting virtualized environments preferred.

VMware VCAP-DCV, VCAP-NV, CVAP-CMA and certifications.

Hyper-converged Infrastructure experience(VxRail) a plus

Deep understanding of networking, platform security, and firewall functions within a virtualization landscape.

Demonstrable ability to perform effectively in a global and matrix organization.

Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.

Self-confidence, assertiveness, and commitment.

Preferred Qualifications:

VMware VCDX-DCV, VCDX-NV, and/or VCDX-CMA certification(s).

Education:

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
