Job Summary
Under general supervision, receives the public, provides information and performs a variety of tasks related to voter registration by performing the following duties.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions
  • Receive, sort and batch Oklahoma voter registration applications.
  • Process voter registration applications into the Modern Election Support Applications (MESA) system.
  • Pull registrations from central file and updates new information accordingly.
  • Verify data entry for accuracy on MESA computer system.
  • Maintain central files to ensure it is current by responding to State and County lists for possible deletions.
  • Process voter identification cards.
  • Receive the public and answers incoming calls; determines the nature of the business and supplies information as authorized.
  • Verify petitions.
  • Certify voter registration information.
  • May be responsible for mailing, receiving inventory and operating machinery.
  • May assist with Maps.

Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Skill in customer service; in maintaining records and files; in typing; in utilizing various Office machines; and in operating a personal computer.

Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; of voter and election regulations and statues; and of Tulsa County and the voting precincts.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to exercise tact, patience and courtesy in dealing with others; to speak clearly, distinctly and in a pleasing tone; to detect clerical errors; and to cooperate and work with others.

Supervisory Skills
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year full-time paid employment.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, of diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management software, Database software. Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Valid OK Driver’s License
