Position Details

Purpose: The Data Integration Specialist serves as a data integration and support services expert providing coordination for data integration services, support for data analysis and reporting, and configuration services to Montcalm Area ISD and our local school districts. Under the direction of the Technology Director / CTO, in collaboration with Instructional Services, Special Education, and Career Technical Education departments, the specialist’s purpose is to serve as a data integration and technical support specialist to districts and staff. The Data Integration Specialist will ensure proper configuration, integration, maintenance, and accuracy of data systems, integrating data for increased access to actionable data for business intelligence, academic achievement, attendance, and student behavior.

Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience or certifications with emphasis on data systems, integration, and reporting.

  • Knowledge of educational data systems and applications including but not limited to: PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) including plugin management, MiDataHub including data integrations, Michigan PowerSchool Special Education (MiPSE), OurSchoolData data warehouse, Michigan Student Data System (MSDS) and other state-sourced data systems, Meal Magic, Acadience, SWIS, Traversa, and Xello.
  • Proficient in accessing, analyzing, and mapping data between systems.
  • Demonstrates efficiency and productivity in job related skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Must have a solid customer focus with ability to work individually and collaboratively, in office and remotely.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb a ladder for technology team projects preferred.
  • Ability to regularly travel between multiple sites.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to always maintain confidentiality required by FERPA and CIPA privacy laws.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor with staff, students and public.
  • Knowledge of the Ed-Fi data standards, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerShell, Clever, OneRoster, GG4L, and other API programming preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory / Azure and Google Workplace GADS and GAM for the purposes of scripting and integration preferred.
