Title: Data Scientist/Building Data Optimization Algorithms

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months + Contract

They are looking to build an optimization modelling process that will take in different store shelving layouts (likely in a grid/matrix format) and calculate the best combination of products that fit with the constraints.

So, this would involve producing all the permutations of inputs for products that incorporate constraints or business rules for the products.

For example:

1. Product A should be next to Product B

2. Product C should be located on the back wall of the store

3. Products must be on the same isle (can’t fill into shelving space on the next isle)

It seems the best approach here would involve writing Python code for at least the optimization model that could then be embedded within a workflow that would provide the platform to handle the throughput of the modelling process.

Skillset needed:

Python coding

Optimization/linear programming - modelling experience

Understands planogram, merchandising, and application of business logic/constraints

2+ years of independently delivering data science, ML projects.

Experience with traditional RDBMS databases, NoSQL databases, and Hadoop.

Experience with Java, C++, Python, R, and other procedural languages Knowledge of statistical analysis, data structures, model training, scoring.

Proficient in data exploration techniques in Alteryx, SQL, Python, or ETL tools.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $95.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
