Data Warehouse Developer (AD3)

Scheduled Hours: 40

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or manage medium to large scale activities related to development and resource planning, gathering business requirements, designing, building, deploying, and maintaining high quality Data Warehouse solutions.
  • Lead code reviews within the development team
  • Lead design meetings and present creative technical solutions with business constituents, management, and enterprise architects
  • Leverage technical knowledge and experience to develop techniques and approaches to solve technical problems, from design through deployment
  • Produce functional specifications and technical specifications deliverables
  • Develop work breakdown structure and project timeline for a complex development project
  • Provide tactical and subject matter expertise input into design, development, testing, and implementation discussions
  • Provide operational support of key applications inclusive of off-hour needs
  • Communicate critical information to management, Service Desk and Operations as necessary.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Advanced knowledge of programming and development concepts
  • Advanced experience and proficiency in SQL
  • Advanced experience in Data Integration processes and tools including Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Visual Studio, Python, and Essbase
  • Working knowledge in Data Integration software installation, maintenance, and administration
  • Advanced working knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and lifecycles including data lakes, staging areas, data marts, star schemas, ETL, and ELT
  • Advanced data modeling and data profiling skills
  • Working knowledge in Mainframe / JCL
  • Advanced experience in RDBMS (Oracle / SQL Server / Snowflake / stored procedures)
  • Design, analysis, and data profiling work have been demonstrated multiple times on larger projects and systems
  • Working knowledge in cloud technologies (Azure / Snowflake preferred)
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving skills combined with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience leading intermediate to large, highly complex initiatives utilizing Project Management Office best practices and standards inclusive of change communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities
  • Ability to self-direct with variable coaching
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred experience in vendor relations management

Education

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience in related field

Experience

  • 5+ years in a technical individual contributor role
  • 3+ years in large ($1B or greater) corporate environments preferred
  • Self-motivated with ability to work as part of a team and independently with little oversight
  • Builds positive working relationships and influences collaboratively across all IT teams
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Naturally inquisitive - demonstrates visible desire to engage and learn
  • Frequently seeks out additional projects and shows interest in other areas and projects
