Doggy Daycare and Boarding Caregiver Overview

In this position you are making sure that all dogs are always safe and having a positive experience at Fast Friends. You will spend your day supervising play groups, feeding and turning out boarding dogs, and cleaning kennels and common areas. The team works closely together to make sure every dog is receiving the highest standard of care, always.

What to expect

All breeds of dogs are welcome at Doggy Daycare and Boarding, so you will be interacting with all types of dogs from chihuahuas to Great Danes! You will be walking or standing for most of the day and will be busy.

Training

• Previous experience is not required.
• Comprehensive and hands on training will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Always monitor the dogs’ safety and health, above all else.
• Interact appropriately with the dogs, always showing them respect and compassion.
• Interact with customers to get care instructions for Boarding dogs and report back on the dogs’ experiences while at Fast Friends.
• Supervise Doggy Daycare playgroups to make sure all dogs are playing nicely.
• Take dogs into and out of playgroups.
• Prepare and deliver meals.
• Clean kennels and bring dogs to the relief yards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to keep the facility running smoothly.

Adoptable Dog Caregivers Overview

Fast Friends is looking for a compassionate dog lover dedicated to providing the highest quality care for the adoptable dogs waiting for their forever homes. You will be one of a team of hands-on caregivers, making sure the dogs are safe at all times and are getting as much enrichment as possible.

The adoptable dogs are mainly sighthounds – Greyhounds, galgos, podencos, salukis, wadi dogs, mixes – and most are in the “large” category. They have a range of ages and temperaments and have come to Fast Friends from a variety of situations and include abandoned hunting dogs and rescued meat trade dogs.

Training

• Walk dogs.

• Work one-on-one with dogs doing enrichment
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure each dog is getting the same high level of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous dog experience preferred but not necessary

About Fast Friends

Fast Friends began finding homes for retired racing Greyhounds from a local track in 1992. Retired racers are the heart and soul of Fast Friends, and we have continued to welcome Greyhounds from Florida, Alabama, West Virginia, Kansas, and, most recently, the United Kingdom.

In 2017 our mission expanded to all sighthounds in need around the world. We work with international rescue partners to help save abandoned hunting dogs in Spain, meat trade dogs in China, and street dogs in Oman.

The Doggy Daycare and Boarding services are integral to funding the mission.
