Our solo-doctor, pediatric dental office is seeking an experienced, well-organized and detail-oriented individual, for a dental assisting position.

-Our office is a specialty office, in the same location for well over 30 years.

-We provide care for children from ages 2-18, as well as for special needs patients.

-Work is primarily restorative in nature, with small amounts of oral surgery, impressions, and some orthodontic procedures being performed.

-Open office hours are M-F 8:30AM-5:00PM. OR days and in-office GA days (described below) run from 7AM through until completion (usually by 3:00, typically.)

-Most of our procedures are performed in the office with nitrous oxide and local anesthetic.

-A portion of the work is done under GA (general anesthesia,) both in a hospital setting (Adena Regional Med. Center,) and in the office by an anesthesia group (4-6 days per month.)

-Our office will employ a 2 assistant schedule. Both assistants will daily assist the pediatric dentist in the primary operatory, while a second outfitted op. will also be utilized for overflow and/or secondary services. Both assistants will also occasionally provide support for the hygiene schedule, taking intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs, as needed.

-Typical weekly hours would range from 32-36 hours per week. Both assistants are needed every day for our regular office days, as well as for in-office GA days. Only one DA goes to the hospital on OR days, which would mean one DA would have a day-off (alternating) 2-3 times per month.

-Secondary job duties will include helping in the sterilization room: cleaning instruments, running the sterilizers/autoclaves, setting up trays, restocking, etc.

-The assistants will also be responsible for proper charting of restorative appointments (paper charts now, but eventually in a paperless format,) and assist the doctor as needed with other clerical/billing processes.

-Several milestones of employment also bring the following benefits: paid holidays (after 6 months,) vacation (graduated to 2 weeks PTO after two years employment,) uniform allowance, some travel/CE benefits, and a retirement play (profit-sharing and 401k (after one years' employment.) Front administrative and clinical area staff also share in production bonuses, when reached on a scale set by management.

We have employed the same core of front desk and clinical staff for long periods of time. We pride ourselves on providing the best care for our patients that we can, while treating these children like our own. We do not have much turnover in our staff, which is a testament to the collegial and good-natured personalities of those we currently employ (and for this position.) In other words, we strive to maintain a friendly and drama-free work environment, wherein our staff support and respect each other's time and efforts, and hope to employ a dental assistant whose personality and work ethic are in-sync with this ideal.

The position has several MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS, which are detailed here:

- A minimum of three (3) years dental office, chairside ("four-handed") assisting experience.

- A current and renewable Dental Radiographer's license through the Ohio State Dental Board.

-A clean background check

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (and an offer above/beyond the stated hourly wage) will be made for those individuals who possess any of the following credentials:

-Certified or Registered Dental Assistant

-Expanded Functions DA licensure

-Nitrous Monitoring credentials

-Pediatric Dental Assisting experience
