This part time dental hygiene instructor position encompasses all aspects of clinical instruction and supervision for first- and second-year dental hygiene students at the Middletown campus dental hygiene clinic. Involvement in community and professional associations is preferred as these memberships provide leadership and mentoring attributes. Employment is contingent upon student enrollment and applicant’s flexibility as to scheduled clinic days each semester. This position is a continuous posting; candidates will be contacted based upon student demand.

Compensation and Benefits:

Wage Positions: The minimum hourly rate for the position is $32.00 per hour, however, actual starting rate is commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is part time and as such cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

In terms of student enrollment, Laurel Ridge is the seventh largest of the 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a 4-year degree in dental hygiene, or related field, and be currently licensed to practice dental hygiene in Virginia.
Local Anesthesia certification is required.
Current American Heart Association BLS (CPR and AED) training is required.
Demonstrated experience in clinical practice is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience is preferred.
