YVFWC has a compulsory vaccination policy including the Covid-19 primary series, the organization does not mandate the Covid-19 booster although it is offered through our employee health department. Medical and religious exemptions to the primary series will be considered and for those approved, the employee should anticipate following appropriate guidance around masking and other protective equipment offered.

What You'll Do

• Care for the underserved in Pullman, Colfax, and surrounding communities.
• Work with a collaborative team consisting of a dentist, hygienists, dental assistants, and receptionists to provide our patients with an excellent experience.
• Provide comprehensive hygienist services based on patient needs, including preventative periodontal care - scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, applying preventive agents, and sealants, and expanded functions - placing and carving composite restorations, applying cavity liners, placing/removing temporary crowns (if interested and as patient demand allows).

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from a Dental Hygiene school. Successful completion of Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) of equivalent exam.
• Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: WA Dental Hygiene license. CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 10 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential pay. Knowledge of standard dental practices and current hygiene concepts. Knowledge of and skilled in the delivery of dental anesthetic. Knowledge of and skilled in placing restorations. Ability to effectively assess, adapt and interact with a variety of patients of all ages, and employees in a professional manner. Ability to effectively manage one’s time, schedule, and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently, appropriately, and within required timelines. High level of dexterity and coordination. Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Electronic Dental Records, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
