ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re hiring a Development Communications Writer to lead and collaborate on core messaging that reflect Project Healthy Mind’s mission and share stories of impact with our growing donor community. This candidate will be responsible for all copywriting and editing across a wide range of deliverables. If you believe that strong communications are essential in creating community, building relationships, and encouraging philanthropic giving – then we want to meet you!

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
  • Write and edit all Development materials, including solicitation and acknowledgement letters, brochures, annual reports, blog posts, newsletters, impact stories, email campaigns, and other creative cases for support
  • Engage with project teams to inform and produce content, ensuring a consistent organizational voice across materials
  • Collaborate with Development and Marketing teams to establish an annual donor communications/marketing calendar that includes email, social media, and direct mail to support fundraising goals
  • Support all Project Healthy Minds events by coming up with compelling concepts and language across deliverables, including hero messaging, taglines, website copy, event scripts, printed programs, etc.
  • Interface among internal teams and external communications/PR firms and project manage production needs
  • Partner with the CEO on stakeholder communications that represent the office
  • Maintain a deep, current knowledge of Project Healthy Mind’s mission and programmatic priorities to ensure all written communications are accurate, strategic, and within brand standards
  • Coordinate with Creative team to transform copy into designed assetsPrepare talking points that support staff in meetings, speaking engagements, etc.

ABOUT YOU

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:
  • Mission-driven – you are passionate about our work and eager to build something brand new in the mental health non-profit space.
  • A seasoned writer – you can provide us with writing samples that demonstrate your exceptional storytelling skills. Ideally, you have produced a wide range of content for donor audiences in a high-growth non-profit setting and have the ability to write in different styles for different audiences while maintaining brand voice.
  • Highly creative – looking at an empty Word document doesn’t intimidate you. You love coming up with original content and elevating brand voice in written communications. With an eye for great copy, you have strong attention to detail while seeing the bigger picture.
  • A proactive self-starter – you take a brief and run with it. You bring your creative vision to the page and to the project teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A multi-tasker – you are a strong project manager who can move back and forth between different projects while prioritizing effectively.
  • A systems-thinker – you can originate the copy AND figure out how to create processes around it to streamline projects.
  • Experienced – Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-3 years of experience preferred.

The annual salary for this role is between $55,000 and $65,000.
