PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for all aspects of fundraising for Jeffco Schools Foundation including planning, directing, and implementing a major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving program, and special events. The Director works in partnership with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fund-raising endeavors.

RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:

Annual Fund -
  • Plan, manage, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the annual fund
  • Collaborate with Executive Director and Executive Assistant, to set annual goals for the annual fund, including the digital and direct mail campaigns, monthly giving, matching gifts, development events, and private grant applications
  • In cooperation with the Executive Assistant, develop and produce mass marketing materials for annual fundraising needs
  • Create and implement an annual fund stewardship program to move supporters along the donor continuum
  • Project and manage annual fund expenses

Individual Donors -
  • Create and implement a major donor stewardship program to acknowledge gifts and deepen relationships for sustaining consistent recurring support
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, research, cultivation and solicitation
  • Establish and direct a major giving society with an annual event to actively recognize and engage donors at the $1,000 level and above
  • Create and implement a legacy giving program that fall in line with the priorities of the foundation

Corporate Partners -
  • Research and nurture community leads surrounding corporate sponsorships, in-kind contributions, events, and program partnerships

Special Events -
  • Plan, direct, and manage one to two major fundraising special events annually

Community Engagement -
  • Schedule and present at nonprofit engagements and other opportunities to promote Family Promise and grow awareness, support, and partnerships
  • Collaborate with Board of Directors on how they can be champions for inviting new prospective partners into our work

Administration -
  • Oversee fundraising database, prospecting, researching, and tracking systems
  • Collaborate with Executive Assistant and Executive Director on an ongoing basis

REQUIREMENTS:

The right candidate for this position will be someone with excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills and who is passionate about supporting children thrive. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple fundraising campaigns while meeting deadlines, be committed to quality work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and have a proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues. The Development Director is a full-time employee supervised by the Executive Director.

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field
  • Four plus years of development experience in non-profit organizations, particularly major gifts fundraising and legacy giving; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Network for Good strongly preferred
  • CFRE preferred
  • Must embrace the mission of the Jeffco Schools Foundation
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers
  • Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships
  • Be a self-starter and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
  • Be organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate self-confidence, strength of judgement, and good listening ability
  • Strong experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, email systems and web platforms

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 annually. Jeffco Schools Foundation offers an excellent benefit compensation package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, holidays and sick time, a retirement savings plan and more.
