Braxton & Sons is now accepting applications for qualified individuals to work in our shop. Braxton is a construction company operating in the Twin Cities area.

We work from 7:00am to 3:30pm shift year-round work, with weekly pay. Must have reliable transportation and good driving record. A positive attitude and good work ethic is also required.

Job Title is: Shop Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic Technician/Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Equipment: Lull Forklifts, JLG’s, Wacker Generators, Compressors

Duties:

-Familiar with large forklifts and JLG manlifts

-Service forklifts on jobsites and in shop

-Performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment. (repair of engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brake systems, suspension, chassis, wheels/tires and driveline)

-Welds parts. Repairs or replaces faulty wiring, switches or relays

-Diagnose machine malfunction, studies blueprints of machine and identify defective parts and replaces defective part

-Complete required paperwork and maintenance log sheets

-Other duties as assigned

Skills required:

- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.

-Required to stand, walk including uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects

- Follow instructions

- Proficient in the use of air/power tools

-Ability to communicate effectively, read, write, mathematical, reasoning ability, demonstrate mechanical aptitude

-Knowledge of diesel engines, drive train, hydraulics

-Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety

Job Type: Full-time Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm

Package Pay Range: $30.00 to $35.00/hour D.O.E.

Starting pay is based on experience

Required education:

• One-year certificate from technical school and/or one-year diesel engine experience
• Experience preferred; however, willing to train a candidate with mechanical aptitude

Required license or certification:

• Driver's License (ability to obtain CDL)
• Good driving record must be maintained
• Pass a physical
• DOT drug test
