Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Overview:

As a Program Counselor (DSP) you will typically work a four to eight hour shift at varying times throughout the day. Schedules include shifts during the week and/or weekend. This position will provide you with the unique opportunity to develop rapport and reciprocal relationships with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Description:

A Direct Support Professional is a supportive and/or caregiver role. A typical day as a DSP is supporting someone in their day-to-day life! Whether that be running errands, setting up a budget, going for a hike or other adventures, checking out some local spots, or even just relaxing at home! Direct Support Professionals are there for it all. Some people may need additional assistance, and some are more independent. As a DSP, you’ll form fun, lasting relationships that make your job rewarding, meaningful and enjoyable.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Typically works a 4-8 hour shift at varying times throughout the day
• Schedules include both week and/or weekend shifts available
• Develop rapport and reciprocal relationships with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assisting individuals with daily living skills, community involvement and promoting the opportunity for consumer choice and independence

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Salary:

• $15.00-$17.00 per hour
• If you have a CNA certification you may qualify for higher compensation.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Minimum Requirements:

Experience is not required, however, applicants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
• Have use of reliable, insured vehicle for transportation

• Weekdays and/or Weekends
• Day Shifts, Afternoon/Swing Shifts, Evening shifts and Overnight shifts available
