About the Job

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have a vital role in providing the direct support and care to individuals with disabilities. The purpose of the position is to ensure that all individuals served have clean, safe, comfortable homes and access to activities, places, and people that enrich their lives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including dressing, bathing, and toileting
• Administer medication and ensure doctor’s orders are implemented
• Transport individuals (in agency vehicles) and provide support for activities and outings
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
• Support individuals in their personal growth and in reaching their goals
• Complete daily logs and written reports in electronic records system

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with 5 or less points
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift and transfer at least 50 pounds
• The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, and physically pursue clients on foot for several hours at a time

***If offered a position, you will be required to attend up to five (5) full days of paid mandatory training located at our Headquarters Office in Hamilton, New Jersey.
