Summary: The Director of Facility Management supports the Chief Operating Officer; Capital & Infrastructure project development; project execution; project budget estimating & control and Capital & Infrastructure planning & budget reporting. Provides Facility/Engineering Management support to ongoing activities including process & productivity improvements. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices & policies in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions. Recommends, implements or guides implementation of new &/or modified programs, services, policies &/or procedures. Comprehends, analyzes & interprets complex facility management/engineering related documents. Responds effectively to sensitive issues, complex inquires or complaints. Works collaboratively with Facilities, Infection Control and other departments as needed. Makes effective presentations to an internal dept., large group of employees &/or mgmt.

Education: Bachelor Degree, Masters in management or related field preferred.

Experience: Expert level experience 10 plus years in the direction and management of facility development and construction projects. Expert level knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and process for hospital/healthcare facilities.

Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Occasionally works with hazardous substances-references material data safety sheets and complies with all recommended safety measures. Duties require person to stand, walk, and bend for approximately 90% of his/her shift. Work on ladders and/or reaching positions for approximately 20% of his/her shift. Occasionally exposed to isolation rooms, heat, dust, water, noise, and high voltage electrical equipment-utilizes appropriate safety apparel during performance of tasks associated with these elements. Duties require the ability to lift weights of approximately 10-20 lbs. for approximately 50% of his/her task. Utilizes safety belts, lifting equipment and obtains assistance from other employees as needed in the performance of all duties which require lifting excessive weights. Occasionally some of the duties involve working on or around moving machinery, electrical systems, infectious systems, excessive heat, dust and noise which necessitates the use of proper precautions. Maintains all safety requirements associated with the facility.
