Mid-sized 3PL provider is hiring a Director, Human Resources in the Indianapolis, IN area. As Director, Human Resources, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the company human resource function, ensuring consistent application and administration of human resources policies, procedures, practices, and initiatives for assigned business units. This position offers competitive compensation + comprehensive benefits package including 401k with competitive match.

What should I expect as a Director, Human Resources?

  • Partner with business and HR functional leadership to plan and implement HR initiatives and policies for the organization
  • Collaborate with business leadership to translate current and future business goals and develop initiatives and tactics to meet business objectives
  • Act as a business partner for change leadership and monitor progress for short and long-term goals
  • Monitor and ensure the organizations’ compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Resolve conflicts and provide coaching and counseling on human resources matters
  • Spearhead initiatives by developing programs and initiatives to increase employee engagement, retention, and job satisfaction.
  • Provide employee development expertise, support systems and processes focused on continuous learning and knowledge sharing

What are we looking for in a Director, Human Resources?

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or relevant field; HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred
  • 10+ years of HR experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success as a human resources leader influencing senior management teams + experience implementing change management
  • Broad contemporary and technical knowledge of all human resources functions and technology, including ability to successfully develop and implement short and long-term objectives aligned with organizational goals
  • Demonstrated success in establishing short- and long-term goals, budgeting HR expenses, and networking with outside peers and organizations to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws including, but not limited to, the following: FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, ADA, EEO, HIPAA, Workers' Compensation
  • Excellent judgment; strong problem solving, decision making, and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including user experience with time and attendance systems (Kronos preferred) and Human Resource Information Systems
