A growing hospital in the Washington DC region has started an important search for a Director of Case Management.

The former Director of Case Management was promoted to a larger role over the entire health system. This system includes ten non-profit academic acute care hospitals that span the state of Maryland. This 300-bed hospital has been named as of the state’s “Best Regional Hospitals."

This is a tremendous opportunity for a Nurse Leader of Case Management to be part of a hospital in a period of rapid growth. There are currently over $100 million being invested in capital infrastructure and expansion projects.

The hospital is looking for a Nurse leader capable of guiding the hospital through this heavy regulated period of Care Management. They seek a leader not just focused on transaction but in transformation of healthcare systems and processes. A leader who functions as hospital executive remains connected to the needs of the patient and the caregivers is desired.

The Director of Case Management will report to the Medical Director and will provide overall leadership and strategic planning for the Case Management Department. Utilization Review will be a primary focus of this role. Particularly, appropriate utilization of resources in the following areas:

• Facilities
• Services
• Admission Review
• Length of Stay
• Professional services rendered

The Director of Case Management will have a great deal of autonomy in the creation and oversight of Department/Program evaluation. Goal-setting for department will also be of paramount importance and this will take shape in the creation and implementation of action plans. The Director of Utilization Review Management will work with a collegial and diverse team that strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients from admission to discharge.
