JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Clinical Operations for Riverview Health Physicians (RHP) is responsible for the day to day clinical operational performance of all assigned physician practices. This position provides oversight to on-site practice managers and actively engages physician and practice management leadership in the delivery of high quality, efficient and accessible services that align with Riverview Health strategies and expand the value of RHP clinics.

    • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with RHP physicians, and all other community based physician practices, to achieve high-quality, effective and affordable primary and specialty ambulatory patient care services.
    • Work with practice managers and physician leaders to develop, document and communicate safe, efficient clinical workflow for effective patient care in all practices.
    • Actively partner with the Director of Operations RHP to implement processes that maximize performance at the practice level. Ensure the clinical equipment and physical facilities of assigned practices are maintained.
    • Direct the activities that provide services and planning related to patient care and employee relations at Riverview Hospital.
    • Provide leadership in the development and provision of nursing services that support the hospital goal of being an employer of choice.
    • Lead departmental personnel by appropriately recruiting, hiring, retaining, mentoring, developing and managing the performance of clinical float pool personnel.
    • Evaluate the patient experience and work with practice managers to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans in identified areas.
    • Maintain awareness of population health strategies and assist in developing care models and the identification and/or provision of data to support achievement of desired results.
    • Provide administrative direction in the implementation and application of appropriate policies, procedures and standards of care. Maintain compliance with ACHC, government regulations and industry requirements and participates in site surveys as needed.
    • Maintain awareness of best practice trends in office clinics and incorporate these into operational improvements.
    • Evaluate opportunities to streamline processes and implements change.
    • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Education
    • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
    • Preferred: Master's in Health Administration (MHA) or Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters of Nursing
  • Level of Experience
    • Minimum: 5+ years RN experience, 3 years progressive leadership experience, including 2 years of physician practice experience.
  • Additional Requirements
    • State Issued License – Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Indiana by date of hire into the position
    • CPR - Yes
    • ACLS - N/A
    • PALS - N/A
    • Type of Specialty Certification or other Licensure, if required: - Registered Nurse
