Job Summary:

The Director of Collections leads the Collections teams in achievement of excellent member service, operational excellence, and meeting organizational goals. Oversees collections call center, post charge-off collections efforts, and vehicle remarketing. Leads the Collections teams with demonstrated high-level knowledge of collections technology, analytics, regulations, functional expertise, and employee engagement focus.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures department goals, deadlines, and objectives are met.
  • Assesses department processes, procedures, and practices to identify areas of increased efficiency and/or effectiveness. Proposes and implements solutions to address identified gaps and increase the overall effectiveness of the department and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates collections functions through a team of managers and team leaders to include work assignments, monitoring, coaching, performance evaluations, hiring and scheduling.
  • Develops, coaches and trains managers and team leaders and conducts ongoing training to ensure performance expectations are met and proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Maintains and develops a set of holistic and detailed performance measurements to ensure individuals, work groups, teams, and outside partners are meeting Langley’s expectations.
  • Reviews and resolves escalated member issues.
  • Oversees, develops, writes, and implements procedures in accordance with any changes in regulations, systems, and/or collections environments.
  • Analyzes new vendors, products, and services and ensures department readiness for execution.
  • Acts as liaison between consumer lending and other teams/areas of Langley.
  • Remains current on the latest technological solutions and disruptors impacting collections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • At least five years of progressive management experience preferred, with at least three years’ experience in consumer collections leadership required.
  • Knowledgeable in collections systems and applied technology with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong knowledge of all laws and regulations associated with consumer rights and collections.
