DIRECTOR OF COST ANALYSIS, Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), to lead a small team of financial professionals within VPR who are responsible for providing advice, guidance, and training to the Institute’s senior leadership and the MIT community on costing issues and the application of federal cost principles and federal regulations. Will provide decision support through complex financial analyses, act as MIT’s primary point of contact with its cognizant federal agency, the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and its cognizant federal auditors, the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA); and direct development, submission, audit support, and negotiation of MIT’s facilities and administrative (F&A), employee benefits (EB), and research vacation accrual (VA) rates.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting; at least ten years of high-level responsibility in university cost accounting/analysis in a major research university environment; demonstrated ability to lead a small, dynamic financial team; comprehensive knowledge of university costing issues, federal regulations, and cost principles-Uniform Guidance (UG)/Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); ability to proactively and independently identify issues and follow them through to resolution, develop and clearly communicate complex financial analyses, juggle multiple priorities under pressure; and foster cooperative partnerships with peers; and proficiency with standard office software and database applications.
