Job Summary:

The Director of Engineering is a key role in Aegis’s Executive Management Team providing technology leadership, vision, and direction. This role is responsible for maintaining existing systems, while evolving all aspects of technology systems and services to align with the strategic corporate objectives. The Director of Engineering has primary responsibility for managing the engineering teams.

Primary Responsibilities

    Lead and coach software engineers to becoming a high performing team that delivers quality software consistently and predictably.
    Hire and retain incredible people.
    Seamlessly transition between conversations with leadership, clients, and software engineers; ensuring that all perspectives are represented in the solutions delivered.
    Plans and executes projects while ensuring that teams have necessary product knowledge, technical specifications, direction, and resourcing to deliver projects on an aggressive, but achievable timeline.
    Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices
    Tracking project deliverables and presenting status reports to stakeholders
    Continuously looks for ways to improve existing software architecture and applications while maintaining service levels, security, and reliability.
    Keeping a forward-looking roadmap that increases business capabilities, improves application reliability, and reduces time of delivery based on current and future trends.
    Assisting in any company audits by internal or external entities and maintains and enhances cybersecurity and disaster recovery policies and procedures.
    Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
    5+ Years of Engineering Management.
    Experience building complex multi-tenant SaaS applications.
    Non-Profit Industry / CRM Experience is a plus.

Required Skills/Abilities:

    Strong knowledge of Agile / Scrum .
    Strong Software Development Skills.
    Azure / AWS is a plus.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.
