Shields Health has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to work a full-time hybrid schedule with two days from home and three from our corporate office in Quincy, MA. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for providing direction to the FP&A and Business Planning/Market Development teams on the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the company's financial performance for all business lines. In this role, you will be an integral member of the finance team collaborating with senior management and various departments to prepare key deliverables including budget, forecasts, financial reporting and ad hoc projects.

Shields Health is looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our dynamic team. You will be joining a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, where Finance has the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the company wide annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process for 40+ operating companies including all aspects of revenue, expense, and capital planning for various business units
  • Develop and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure company performance
  • Manage, mentor, and develop both the FP&A and Business Planning/Market Development teams
  • Coordinate, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts including additional ad-hoc analysis on results
  • Oversee quantitative analysis required for strategic planning, special projects, and reports for management and communicate results to management team
  • Review, approve and present financial slides for board of director meetings
  • Prepare financial presentations for senior management and joint venture partners
  • Oversight of capital process and requests for all business lines
  • Provide ad-hoc and ROI analysis along with reporting that supports strategic decision making for the company
  • Oversight and development of all new business pro-forma financial models
  • Assist with maintenance and updates to finance data within our BI tool (QlikView)


Educational Requirements

  • BS in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred

Experience Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ progressively responsible experience managing an FP&A or decision support team, preferably in healthcare
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams with the ability to coach, motivate and engage employees in a finance function
  • Strong data visualization and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell a story and transform data into clear, digestible information for various audiences
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, along with solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to solve complex financial, operational and accounting problems
  • Must be very well organized and able to act and operate independently with minimal supervision with the ability to strategically prioritizing multiple tasks in a proactive manner
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights preferred, but not required

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone and pc
