USD 363 Holcomb Schools is a medium business in Holcomb, KS.

Looking for a responsible, hardworking individual with experience maintaining our physical plant. The successful candidate will be on their feet most of the day, speaking with several people on a daily basis and have strong writing skills to document all work performed. Previous experience with grounds is preferred. Pay rate is commensurate with experience. Performance Responsibilities:

A. Specific duties include, but not limited to:

1. Organize, direct and supervise the duties of the grounds staff

2. Maintain a system of evaluation for personnel and job descriptions

3. Oversee the procedure for the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, promotion, transfer, demotion and/or termination of grounds staff

4. Maintain a staff of experienced personnel and promote training and in-service programs to ensure continuance of personnel capabilities

5. Promote and enforce safety programs to insure safety for all students and district staff

6. Supervise the summer grounds program.

7. Inspect all grounds throughout the year ensuring protection of property, maintenance of equipment, attractiveness of facilities, sanitary and safety conditions and economy of operations

8. Secure and maintain effective working relationships with knowledgeable and capable vendors and service agencies

9. Recommend purchases for all grounds supplies and equipment

10. Work in close relationship and assistance with superintendent of buildings, board of education, administration and district staff

11. Assist in the development and management of the annual grounds budget

12. Attend educational workshops to ensure that the district meets and exceeds the state and federal mandated programs and regulations concerning district facilities

13. Perform any other related duties or assignments as requested by the superintendent of schools or the board of education

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
