The Role

Xos Inc. is hiring a Director of Human Resources to manage the growth of Xos' team and to lead the development of company-wide recruiting programs, employee engagement, department administration, talent development, onboarding processes, and operational excellence. Successful candidate will be an action-oriented go-getter who drives Xos's mission and attains business goals through well-designed people strategies and programs.


Responsibilities

  • Recruitment Strategy: Build a world-class recruiting function that partners with management and scales to support the needs of a rapid-growth, high-tech, and diversified organization.
  • Performance Alignment: Oversee employee development initiatives that empower our managers and leaders to become more effective through measurable KPIs.
  • HR Initiative Oversight: Champion HR initiatives, such as performance management, compensation design, benefits planning, leave, disciplinary matters ,health and safety, employee training and development, and operational excellence.
  • Talent Development: Build scalable learning and development programs to facilitate team growth and drive employee motivation and performance; deliver solutions for leadership development including coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Management Advisor: Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team; provide support on all talent-related issues & conflict management.
  • Strategic Policy Development: Facilitate organizational development through company-wide policies that are strategic and effective.
  • Process Development. Improve and streamline systems and implements new HR processes to create speed, efficiency, and agility within the organization.
  • HR Administrative Function: Manage the HR administrative functions, including organizational structure development, payroll services, benefits administration, reporting, and onboarding.
  • Regulatory Compliance. Monitors and ensures Xos's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Demonstrated experience as an advisor to senior leadership.
  • History of successful implementation of innovative and effective people practices.
  • Experience scaling HR function; proven track record recording in the development and management of HR functions and operational processes.
  • Deep knowledge of all major HR functions, especially recruitment, compensation, and talent management.
  • Excellent communication skills and desire to take full ownership of internal HR functions.
  • Proven ability to grow HR teams and functionality at high-growth companies.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' progressive leadership experience in Human Resources or Operations-related functions
  • B.A./B.S., MS preferred, in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related discipline
  • PHR / SPHR certified a plus
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience across all principal HR functions, including Talent Acquisition/Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, and Diversity & Inclusion functions
  • Proficiency with the Google Workspace a plus

The salary range for this role is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Xos Inc. reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skillset, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business or organizational factors.

  • California: $150,000 - $200,000
