Responsibilities

We have a brand new opening at our prestigious Bailey Boushay House for a full time Director of Nursing Services.

The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for planning and managing patient care, nursing and support services at the Bailey Boushay House. This job provides overall direction and leadership for day-to-day operations of assigned service lines. The director will provide leadership to develop and implement strategies and policies to accomplish delivery of services at best possible levels of cost effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction. This job places strong emphasis on the following outcomes: the achievement of the aggressive development & dissemination of best practices and the cultivation of a highly-effective work unit.
Primary Accountabilities include the following:
  • 40% - Manages daily operation of departments. Collaboratively establishes priorities to develop short- and long-range plans for changing populations of patients, space management and new programs.
  • 25% - Provides leadership and direction for all human resources issues within the departments. Recruits, hires, trains, disciplines, and supervises staff including completion of performance evaluations and competency assessments. Maintains and updates staff procedure manuals, staff training programs and quality assurance programs.
  • 20% - Develops and manages budget. Ensures cost-effective daily operations and allocation of section resources; develops goals and objectives to correspond with department standards.
  • 15% - Acts as a contributing member of the nurse management team.
In addition, goal setting, tracking and reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
In conjunction with others, prepares for and participates in the annual DSHS survey.
Participates with other Leaders at Bailey Boushay House in the AOC on call schedule.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or business administration required.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington required.
Extensive clinical and business knowledge of the relevant service line, which may include appropriate certifications.
Understanding regulatory compliance under the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and other contracts.
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of budgets and planning.

Preferred: Five years combined clinical and supervisory/managerial experience.
VMPS leader training, and certifications in an area such as EOL, AIDS or Wound care preferred.

Pay Range

$64.10-$80.14 /hour
