Director of Operations - Remote in California Job at AmeriVet Partners Management, Inc
Job Overview:
The Director of Operations will help support our growing group of veterinary practices. The Director of Operations is responsible for 10-15 practices in a particular region and will help support practices in their market that their direct reports oversee. They will provide their practices with the tools and leadership they need to operate with excellence and meet or exceed financial goals.
The Director of Operations will report to a Senior Director of Operations and may be responsible for Area Managers as direct reports.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversight of practices including partner and associate DVMs, technicians, and other paraprofessional staff
Financial responsibility for meeting or exceeding budgets. Responsible for revenue growth and achieving financial goals
Maintain a strong presence in all practices, including on-site visits and consistent accessibility via phone and email
Build relationships and trust with practices to help gain alignment on decisions
Implement and support various initiatives and best practices to improve practice performance
Ability to coach, teach, and mentor Area Managers
Qualifications:
- A strong leader who can influence and hold people accountable to policies and procedures
- A great communicator who can effectively speak with partners, veterinarians, and support staff
- Easily adaptable and flexible to change, each practice is different and has different support needs
- A general understanding of financial reports – Key Performance Indicators, budgets, profit and loss statements, cost of goods, labor, revenue, EBITDA
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or a related field is preferred
- A background in veterinary management is preferred
- Experience with multi-site operations or regional management required
