SPI is a global renewable energy company and provider of solar storage and electric vehicle (EV) solutions for business, residential, government, logistics and utility customers and investors. The Company provides a full spectrum of EPC services to third party project developers, as well as develops, owns and operates solar projects that sell electricity to the grid in multiple countries, including the U.S., the U.K., Greece, Japan and Italy.

SPI has its US headquarters in Santa Clara, California and maintains global operations in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. SPI is also targeting strategic investment opportunities in green industries such as battery storage and charging stations, leveraging the Company's expertise and growing base of cash flow from solar projects and funding development of projects in agriculture and other markets with significant growth potential.

We are seeking for a Director of Solar Project Development in the Sacramento. This role will be responsible for leading the entire commercial and utility-scale solar project acquisition & development for the west coast of US. Reporting to the COO, this position offers tremendous opportunity for career growth, autonomy, and being hands-on in the growth of a business.

The role will lead in the sale of large scale commercial solar generation, storage and energy management projects and programs to targeted accounts.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, engineering, or other relevant disciplines
  • At least 5 years of experience and successful track records in the full range development of commercial and utility-scale solar projects, including- acquisitions, permitting, vendor proposals, financing proposals, project sale, etc
  • Well-versed in solar greenfield development & project acquisitions
  • Experience with growing significant customer relationships interfacing with executive-level decision-makers
  • Experience with large and strategic customer management
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Experience in strategic business planning
  • Strong financial business acumen
  • Strong background in value-based selling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • On-site and large-scale off-site solar project sale experience
  • Familiarity with community solar offerings, including securing land, title, permit, interconnection and offtake.
  • Familiarity with contracting structures for on-site and off-site solar and energy management contracts including but not limited to: PPAs, Contract for Differences, Virtual PPAs, & EPC Contracts.
  • Some travel throughout the US will be required
