About the Role

As a director of Technology, you will be accountable for ensuring the quality, security, and efficiency of our entire technology stack including internal networks, cloud networking and hosting, identity and access management, cloud-based system and software administration, technical support, device management for both HQ and restaurants, and security architecture. Due to the nature of our business, this role is not a remote position.

Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead IT Team - Define and execute a strategic and tactical roadmap for the IT team. Ensure team members have clear, measurable goals, responsibilities, and performance standards. Provide mentorship and feedback to help the team excel.
  • Security Architecture - Identify security risks across threat vectors and lead projects, processes, and governance to mitigate risk. Implement a security standard for both restaurant and HQ environments.
  • System and Software Administration - Select, implement, and administer 3rd party software systems including identity and access management to meet both restaurant and HQ needs
  • Helpdesk - Help to manage Zendesk. Ensure that we’re achieving fast response and resolution times while reducing tickets per employee by solving root causes, creating repeatable processes, and automating regular IT and other departmental technology needs. Expand the size and scope of our current help desk to accommodate corporate teams as well as franchising.
  • IT Budget and Expenses - Own the IT budget including managing vendor relationships and identifying cost saving opportunities and investments.
  • Help to align the path of technology with current industry standards

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of increasing responsibility or specialization in IT
  • 4+ years experience building and maintaining IT infrastructure in high-growth companies
  • 4+ years experience in an IT leadership role
  • Experience with digital security including network security, risk management, data, and host security, identity management, cryptography, and public key infrastructure (PKI)
  • Experience with IT infrastructure design and implementation for high mobility environments with > 100 active devices
  • Comfortable with a startup environment - sizing solutions appropriate to the stage of the company and rolling up your sleeves as needed
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, especially in writing
  • Proven experience in an IT leadership role or similar; including change management
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations
  • In-depth understanding of the restaurant industry
  • Takes ownership of IT voice and vision
  • Experience with restaurant technology systems such as Aloha, OLO, CTUIT
  • Must be organized and can help organize the team. Leadership is a must to drive the department.
