The Director of Training is responsible for creating, facilitating, and implementing new content, policy, and learning strategies for onsite team members, regional leadership, and executive board members. The Director of Training and Development maintains a consistent culture in the business with regard to training and development. This position is responsible for improving the productivity of team members with on-boarding, assessing company-wide development needs, driving training initiatives and identifying and implementing suitable training solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of property management training initiatives that drive the business’s growth strategies.
• Work with leaders and team members to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as a team member advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives
• Plans, organizes, and directs training and development programs for team members for the purpose of increasing individual and organizational performance and also for the purpose of improving employee morale while simultaneously enhancing their skills
• Create and maintain training schedules for existing team members and new hires.
• Modify and create course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs.
• Present in-person and online training sessions.
• Provide a customer service consultative approach constantly surveying, measuring, and evaluating the needs of all team members to target the right learning to increase knowledge, skills, and abilities around operations and development needs
• Maintain and update the standard operating procedures to optimize team members performance across the portfolio
• Maintain reasonable awareness of relevant laws and agency regulations, including but not limited to fair housing, sexual harassment, disability accommodations, and landlord tenant relationships as they apply to the policies and procedures of the company and the communities.
• Ensures that the format for the manuals, policies, rules, standards of operation and procedures are always in line with the business’s’ overall goals and objectives.
• Other duties not listed above as directed by the President.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or any other related field; an equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable.
• 7+ years in working experience in a training and development capacity, preferably at a senior position such as the Head of Training and Development. The candidate must also demonstrate experience in content creation, maintenance of training processes, and the successful development of ongoing training and development programs.
• Experience directly supervising, coaching, and developing professionals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence and poise
• Must possess strong analytical skills as well as a demonstrated passion for research, data analysis, and the insights that are derived from it.
• Must have an ability to prioritize tasks completing multiple tasks in a timely manner, be flexible and welcoming to change, have an ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision, and be self-motivated.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws preferred
