Job Summary
Seneca Healthcare District is seeking a full-time Clinic Director to lead all business and clinical aspects of the Lake Almanor Clinic. The Director will report to the Chief Executive Office with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
The Director position should have an in-depth knowledge of all relevant healthcare regulations pertaining to a designated Rural Health Clinic. Additionally, the Director will bring experience and knowledge with; Medical billing and terminology, Clinical documentation, Revenue Cycle, Physician office workflow and best practice in a rural healthcare environment. The Director will be responsible for overall clinic business strategy, program development, business development, budgets and day to day operations as well as patient and provider satisfaction and communications.

Essential Functions*

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.
  • Knows and practices the prescribed philosophy, purpose, policies, and standards of care for Rural Health Clinics (RHC).
  • Works directly with surveyors from outside agencies and coordinates the development and implementation of any necessary plan of correction.
  • Organizes, directs, and administers all staff services in order to provide the level of care required by current medical and healthcare consumer standards.
  • Plans and coordinates with the CEO, CFO, CNO and Medical Staff for planning the budgeting requirements for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitors operational budgets to eliminate waste and explain budgetary variance from the approved budget.
  • Along with Medical Staff, ensures that clinical documentation is complete, accurate and timely in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Supports and co-develops Nursing/Patient Care Services in the coordination of the employee selection process, work assignments, performance evaluations, and staff development for these services.
  • Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement analysis and evaluation of patient care delivery and communicates with Administration on the activities/issues of Clinic Care Services.
  • Plans and recommends to Administration new facilities or equipment, or modification thereto, needed to continuously improve patient care and workflow.
  • Recommends, supports, and participates in education services, programs of education, and training, including orientation of new employees. Encourages and facilitates the professional advancement of employees by affording opportunities for further education and experience.
  • Recommends the modification, addition, or deletion of personnel policies.
  • Initiates and participates in problem-solving, program development and policy-forming conferences for Clinic Care Services. Maintains close coordination with all department to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
  • Ensures that cordial relationships are maintained with patients, their families and friends, clergy, and other interested groups in the community. Interprets the goals of the Clinic Care Service areas to the community by maintaining harmonious and effective relationships with the education system, volunteer groups, agencies, and the community.
  • Participates in the SHD Management meetings, Board of Directors, and Medical Staff Meetings.
  • Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Nursing, Business or other relevant areas of study pertaining to the position.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare or Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of three to five year’s business/office operations experience (Healthcare Preferred)
  • Prior experience in a rural health clinic environment preferred.
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principles.

Salary Range:*
$137,794 - $181,328 / annually depending on experience and qualifications.
