Your Role:

  • Responsible for scheduling, organizing and monitoring fleet of 50-100 trucks and drivers
  • Coordinating with companies to assign trucks to job each day
  • Communicating with drivers regarding job clarifications and/or job changes
  • Communicating with other dispatchers/workers regarding truck delays, job changes, job needs, etc

Tracking job truck status Specific Responsibilities:

  • The Dispatcher has responsibility for the coordination of the utilization of drivers, trucks and shipments, to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers
  • The Dispatcher is responsible for the daily route schedule, communication with West Jordan carriers/drivers, dispatching loads and ensuring route completion for on time delivery of QSC tanks to all customers
  • The Dispatcher will monitor the process for continuous improvement and in support of white glove delivery service to our customers
  • Prepare, update, and dispense the daily route schedule
  • Communicate with carriers/drivers, assigning loads based on designated routes and location
  • Plan and dispatch routes in an accurate and timely basis to meet established metrics
  • Dispatch local and regional loads as needed
  • Work closely with scheduling and planning to manage lead times and ensure that scheduling, routing, and service are optimized and efficient
  • Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick-ups), route completions and driver locations
  • Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process
  • Follow and ensure all required safety policies and procedures are followed and implemented
  • Maintain regular communication and manage and adapt to delays and/or issues on the road
  • Support needed response to unforeseeable issues with drivers, routes, customers, and equipment
  • Provide daily communication to management on labor and equipment needs
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, maintain interaction with customers on a continuous basis gathering feedback on safety, quality and delivery for continuous improvement
  • Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate leadership for resolution
  • Assist in verifying and resolving customer complaints
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all regulatory compliance for logistics Qualifications you need to have:
  • Associates degree in Business or Logistics preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in planning and dispatching in transportation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
  • Customer-focused, demonstrating a commitment to high levels of customer service
  • Strong planning and prioritizing skills, able to sequence activities and manage resources
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to evaluate and create solutions
  • Positive rapport, develops strong relationships with internal and external teams
  • Apply logic, judgment, and data to drive decisions
  • Analytical, assessing, visualizing and presenting/articulating information
  • Ability to communicate across, up and down the organization
  • Aligned with highest integrity and work ethic
