What you will do

Leadership

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results

Accounting Support

  • Responsible for accurate and timely financial close, consolidate and reporting cycle for the division
  • Responsible for division-level consolidated financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
  • Establish and maintain a highly effective system of financial controls for the mill network
  • Working in connection with Corporate Accounting and Director, Operations Controller, provide US GAAP accounting and reporting guidance to the finance and accounting departments of all sites within the division
  • Assist in establishing operating procedures for the division to drive accounting standardization across the division
  • Drive the creation of mill-level P&Ls and asset-level cost statements
  • Responsible for all actual financial reports to the Finance Director, General Manager, and corporate.
  • Review of significant customer and vendor contracts for contract terms including revenue recognition, supply agreements, and various other contracts with oversight from the Director, Operations Controller
  • Detailed understanding and documentation of end-to-end processes (data and reports) that impact accounting such as freight, purchasing, and others at the division level

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation of divisional accounting processes.
  • Foster an environment of learning and development that goes beyond reporting results and variances, and helps the business understand drivers of performance
  • Other special projects as applicable.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting (required)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, which includes exposure to manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and control principles including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Hands-on experience and capabilities in analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports
  • Experience with JDE ERP system a plus
  • CPA (preferred)
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Broad appreciation and understanding of accounting, as well as a thorough knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting operations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage direct reports and peers
  • Self-sufficient, organized, good problem solver, results-oriented
  • Energetic, flexible, and collaborative team player who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills, and detail orientation.
  • High level of integrity to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
  • Primarily office environment: personal protective equipment is required in mill areas.
  • Long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor.
  • Monthly travel to mills.

Total Reward Details

We’re committed to providing an exceptional workplace experience, including a comprehensive total reward package. The base salary range for the position is $141,000 - $211,500 and is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan and our Long-Term Incentive Plan. Base pay offered will consider internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Starting paid time off includes 15 vacation days, 5 floating holidays, and 9 company holidays per full year.
