This pre-selection will be for critical roles that would be located in Longview, if selected, to enhance our ability to transition quickly and resource backfills effectively.
Eastman Chemical Company is investing significant capital in circular economy assets in North America. The new manufacturing facility will be comprised of the following units:
1) Mixed Plastic Processing (MPP) unit to sort polyester from other olefins/plastics,
2) Methanolysis unit to depolymerize polymers into monomers,
3) Polymerization unit to repolymerize into product and process
4) Intermediate processing unit
5) Site infrastructure and utilities.
Each operating unit will have a dedicated Division Representative. The Division representative will serve as the primary Operation's Owner who will interface between the Project Engineering and Construction Teams. This individual will work with the Project Team members to accomplish full project implementation from initial design through project start-up and project closing. The Division representative must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety at every stage of the project.
If selected these positions will be based in Longview, TX with travel during the detailed engineering phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Operation’s Owner who will interface between the Project Engineering and Construction Teams.
- Work with Project Manager & Engineering Manager during the detailed design phases to monitor and control project cash flow, costs, and schedule.
- Ensure the PrHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) and PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) components are addressed and included in project scope
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are addressed
- Provide Manufacturing Director with timely updates on significant engineering, procurement, and construction planning efforts
- Approve P&IDs for the project
- Coordinate with Process Control Lead to design distributive control systems.
- Participate in the preparation of operating procedures, staffing plans, and training of operations role employees
- Prepare commissioning, check out strategy, and start-up plans.

Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering- Thorough understanding of capital processes, from project definition through plant start-up.
- Effective communication and coordination skills and demonstrated team leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and dedication to implementing safe capital facilities.
- Ability to travel as needed based on project needs
