SP Murphy, Inc is currently seeking a document control specialist to join our team. Performs document management work in support of key stakeholders.

  • Reviews, logs, codes, photocopies microfiches, and files various reports, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Maintains various department files and retrieves information from computer/hard copy.
  • Inputs records management information into databases and other computerized systems.
  • Files documentation alphabetically, numerically, and chronologically.
  • Identifies, locates, and files missing documents and files.
  • Purges and archives closed documentation.
  • Maintains master files of various information sources, including drawings, manuals, reports, construction documents, and design documents.
  • Request prints and/or issues drawings, manuals, and records.
  • Generates computerized reports for management.
  • Receives and distributes reports.
  • May occasionally be assigned to other duties for training purposes or to deal with technological changes or emergencies.
  • Work closely with the key stakeholder to review/update action items.
  • Collaborate/follow-up with the project managers, run reports and format action item report for the executives in preparation for the weekly owner’s meeting.
  • Attend and prepare weekly meeting minutes for owner’s meeting.
  • Assist executives and PMs with prompt retrieval of documents or information.
  • Work as a team with the full document control team and assist with audits, updating matrices, monthly report and submittal milestones.
  • Maintain confidentiality in handling and managing various documents.

Additional Requirements:

  • General office practices and procedures
  • PC business applications
  • Basic administrative practices
  • Recordkeeping and filing systems, including computerized databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced writing skills; technical writing skills preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication , analytical thinker
  • Strong documenting skills in areas of organization and problem solving
  • Self-Motivated and flexible
  • Follow directions and detail oriented
  • Accustomed to a fast paced environment and able to deal effectively with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Meet client demands with thoroughness and promptness

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering Related Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
